Webex is an all-in-one desktop and mobile solution for messaging, file sharing, white boarding, video meetings, calling, meetings and ongoing chats using phone or video. Faculty and staff can use the Webex suite to collaborate with colleagues, conduct interviews, meet online, record a meeting and more. Students can use Webex to collaborate on group projects using phone and video. Everyone should review and follow 91Ó°ÊÓÆÆ½â°æ's (login with NetID to view).

Meet

There are three options: Webex Meetings, Webex (formerly know as Webex Teams) and your Personal Meeting Room. Webex Meetings includes closed-captioning, recording, breakout sessions and other features. Use for meeting with anyone, not just 91Ó°ÊÓÆÆ½â°æ account holders.

How to access

Webex AI Assistant  

Use Webex AI Assistant to follow up on action items, take note of important decisions, and highlight key moments during a meeting.  

Attendees will be notified when AI or recording features are in use and must accept the disclaimer to participate. Once accepted, microphones and cameras will need to be manually turned on by the attendee. Opting out/not accepting the disclaimer prevents participants from sharing video, enabling the mic or using chat during the meeting.

Hosting Secure Meetings

Recordings 

Before your record or take a screenshot during your meeting you must have prior consent. See the Guidelines and Release Form section on this page.

During periods of increased use, recordings can take up to 24 hours to be fully uploaded and appear in the cloud. Saved recordings are available for up to three years in Webex. After that, they are automatically deleted.

Equipment for using Webex 

A microphone is required, webcams are optional. in a Webex test space.

Students who don't have access to a computer can use one in Academic Commons, the 24/7 Study Space or ask the Tech Services Desk for options. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, please bring your own headset. Be sure to check hours of operation.
