Information Governance

91Ó°ÊÓÆƽâ°æ’s Information Governance program consists of data privacy and data protection processes, procedures, standards and technologies that provide a holistic approach to protecting and managing data.

Data privacy and data protection work together and are both underpinned by Information Security standards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, availability, privacy and quality of data throughout its lifecycle, from creation to destruction.

  • Data privacy focuses on the protection of personally identifiable information (PII) and data subject rights.
  • Data protection focuses on ensuring the overall protection of data and its authorized use through the implementation of appropriate safeguards, controls and data loss prevention methods.

The Office of Information Security and Privacy provides guidance and requirements on how to safely use and handle data, who is responsible for 91Ó°ÊÓÆƽâ°æ data and how to determine data type at 91Ó°ÊÓÆƽâ°æ.
