Kyohei Abe received his M.F.A. in photography from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Abe is the founding director and chief curator of the Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography. In addition to his curatorial practice, Abe鈥檚 research investigates dimensionality and structured play through the constructed photographic space. Abe鈥檚 work is in museum collections nationwide including the Museum Fine Arts, Houston, and the West Collection, Oaks, Pennsylvania. His work was recently published in The Collector鈥檚 Eye: A Photographer鈥檚 View of His Contemporaries by Schilt Publishing. Additionally, his work 鈥淚maginary Scapes鈥 was recently exhibited through Jason Shin Gallery in South Korea.
